NANTUCKET BIKE TRIP, scheduled for October 17 - 19

Posted on Sep 9 2014 - 9:35am

Every two years,

Troop 2 tradition has us boating and biking to Nantucket! We rent a truck, load our

tents and gear and then pack our bikes in. We drive to the Steamship Authority dock in

Hyannis, put the truck and the Troop on the ferry and cross to the island. When the

boat reaches Nantucket harbor, we pull all our bikes out of the truck and pedal to Camp

Richard. The weekend always features short bike trips into town and to the beach.

Troop 2 has another Eagle Scout - Justin Friess!

Posted on Sep 6 2014 - 10:28am
Congratulations to Justin, who had his Board of Review Thursday night in Westboro.  Justin's Eagle Leadership Service Project was building four awesome hexgonal picnic tables for the courtyard at the Whitcomb Middle School.  The tables allow teachers and students to better use this outdoor space in their lessons and free time.  Well done, Justin, on your accomplishment.

Whitewater Rafting Trip 9/26 - 28 to Cole Pond VT

Posted on Sep 3 2014 - 10:32am
These rapids are much cooler and more challenging than the Deerfield River trip last year!  The West River is a class 2 - 4 on the scale of 1 - 5.  It's a blast!  Page 2 of the attached permission has more details on the boat trip.
