Lake George Kayak Trip

Posted on Sep 1 2010 - 11:21am

All,

We will have a MANDATORY meeting for all those attending the Lake George Kayak trip outside of the Kane School at 6:30 PM, Tuesday 9/7/10 (before the troop meeting). Be sure to bring the following to the meeting:
Completed and signed Lake George Kayak Company release form.
Completed and signed Health History form (you can use the one from camp)
Trip fee $50.00

I have a kayak at my house (119 Cullinane Dr) and all scouts must come over Wednesday 9/8 and take a quick 10 minute paddle to prove competency per the Safety Afloat requirements. We can do this anytime between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM

Attached are a few thoughts on the trip that I jotted down including what to bring and not bring.

Lucas's Eagle Project

Posted on Aug 31 2010 - 6:08am

Troop 2:

On Saturday, my final Eagle Project date came to a close. We ended up resetting 51 stones and wrapping up just after lunch. The project total was 207 markers. The Cemetery Supervisor is very pleased with the results, and the markers look very nice, especially after the stone dust settles. The fact that we could exceed the goal of 180 in less than 3 days shows just how excellent our troop is when it comes to volunteering and working towards a tough goal. Thank you so much to everybody that contributed part of their Saturdays to help me with my Eagle Project. Thank you also to Mrs. Tinoco and Tino’s Pizza for donating lunch, and to Mrs. Hershon for donating drinks. I will return any borrowed tools ASAP, and if you are missing any tools by the end of the week, give me a call or send me an e-mail so I can figure out which shovels are yours. Thank you so much to all the scouts and parents who made this project so successful, and I will see you guys once the Tuesday meetings start up again.
